Magali Munoz Massieu is a Houston, Texas based artist who was born in France and was raised in Mexico City.  She holds a degree in Architecture from the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico. Her years of study at The Glassell School of Art in Houston have enriched her formal training as an artist. Living in the multicultural Houston area since 2012 has served to broaden her perspective as an artist. Her work encompasses oil paintings, encaustics, engravings, monotypes each using different printing methods and materials.  She has been part of several exhibitions in Mexico as well as in United States.

“I utilize figurative language in my work to emphasize the story behind it.  The study of the color palette in each of my pieces is of great importance to obtain the results and effects I want. Light and movement are essential components that help me express the ethereal moments of life.”

 

 

Magali Muñoz Massieu es una artista que vive en  la Ciudad de Houston, Texas. Nacida en Francia, crece en la Ciudad de Mexico. Obtiene su titulo de Arquitecta en la Universidad Iberoamericana en Mexico. Sus años de estudio en La Escuela de arte “Glassell School of Art” en Houston  han enriquecido su formación como artista.  Su perspectiva como artista se vio enriquecida al vivir en el area multicultural de Houston desde el 2012. Su obra se compone de pinturas al Oleo y técnicas mixtas y de encaustos, monotipos, grabados e impresiones con diversas técnicas y materiales. Ha formado parte en exhibiciones tanto en Mexico como en EUA.

“Utilizo el lenguaje figurativo para enfatizar la historia detrás de mi obra. El estudio de la paleta de color en cada una de mis piezas es de gran importancia para lograr los efectos que busco.

La luz y el movimiento son componentes esenciales que me  ayudan a expresar los momentos  etéreos  de la vida.”
